Slate writer Will Oremus says It seems Red Sox personnel watching the catcher’s hand signals on video were using Apple’s smart watch to quickly convey information about those signs to trainers in the dugout, who could then pass it on to players on the field. The Red Sox apparently confessed to sign-stealing, but in the process accused the Yankees of stealing signs, too. Just using a regular TV camera, not something as trendy as an Apple Watch. According the SF Gate via the Associated Press, her arrival on campus reflects a quiet but momentous shift that’s taking place at a wave of women’s colleges that have begun allowing trans women. Since 2014, at least eight women’s colleges have moved to allow trans women, starting with Mills College in Oakland, according to the report. Joining Wellesley in 2015 were Smith, Bryn Mawr and Barnard colleges, the last of the so-called Seven Sisters women’s colleges to make the change. Several buildings on St. Martin have been destroyed, according to the BBC and much more damage is forecast. Most models put the storm on a direct path to Florida later this week, where colleges, football teams and students are all watching closely. Irma will likely be the big news story for at least the next week, though most forecasters do not expect it to hit the already-devastated Houston area.
